    Description

Vintage Wizard of OZ lot: Ruby Red Slippers Brooch, Books, Photo. Our offering attests to the  enduring quality of  "The Wizard Of OZ". Starting with a studio still of the 1939 filming, the lot contains items well into the 20th century. Ozdoids and cinephiles will both find items of interest. The 8" x 10" B + W Glossy represents Glinda and Dorothy with dozens of Munchkins. Note that Dorothy has not yet been gifted with the Ruby Slippers. There is a small tear on right side. It is a studio still marked 1939, but no telling when this copy was produced. From 1976, a PYRAMID Books first edition of "Down the Yellow Brick Road: The Making of  the Wizard of OZ" by Doug McClelland. It is a soft cover oversized  publication. There are hundreds of B + W photos, plus a very comprehensive history. A previous owner has unfortunately cut or tore some parts photos out seems barbaric. The cover has a corner crease and a price tag on the back,  18 1/2" x 11" . From 1986, an issue of the International Wizard of OZ club, "The Bugle". Volume 30, number 3, Winter 1986). We thoroughly enjoyed reading this soft cover booklet. It is obvious that true fans would devour the obscure facts contained  within. It is in A+ condition. 8 1/2" x 11". From 1992, a hardback first edition "the Silly Oz buls of OZ and the Magic Merry-Go-Round" by Roger S. Bawn. He's the Great Grandson of L. Frank Bawn. The dust cover and book are in A+ condition. Inside, there is a dedication, autograph, and a stamp of Toto. Very cute. This book is a short, but is a further expansion of the stories from the Land of Oz. It's sweet and a good "read aloud" book. Published by Yellow Brick Road Publishers, Inc., 8 1/4" x 11 3/4". Lastly, an adorable Ruby Slippers brooch marked "T.E.C.". Research clues show some of these, which are marked 1999, we've sold as trinkets on cards. 1 1/2" x 1". Photos are provided. Questions welcome.
