Vintage Express 1 1/2 Tape Moistener by Better PackagesShelton, Conn.**************** FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING ***************
From Better Packages website, "Thomas Edison invented water-activated tape in 1912. The advent of the cardboard box prompted Edison to create something better than twine to close the boxes. Inventing water-activated tape was a huge breakthrough! For the first time people could actually seal a carton, rather than just hold it closed. The tape needed an efficient way to be dampened and be cut and it didn’t take long for the water-activated tape dispenser to be in invented. Better Packages was “born” in1917."
This vintage dispenser is all original. The body is made of cast iron and is painted a dark green color. The original decal is in nice shape, showing the company name, and a graphic of a man carrying packages in the center. An original roll of tape still sits in the dispenser, giving this a nice, complete look!
Overall, this piece is very clean. In fact, it still has the original inspection sticker from the factory on the bottom!
