Victorian c1870s 10k Gold Black Enamel Hand Engraved Scrollwork Bangle Bracelet
Presented is a fabulous antique 10 karat gold hinged bangle bracelet. This is an
American Victorian piece, dating to around the 1860s-1880s. The bracelet
features a classic scrollwork design, very finely engraved and detailed, the
photos can't do the intricacy and vibrance of the design justice, with the way
the details catch the light in person. Above and below the engraved decoration
is a fine stripe of black enamel, for a nice contrasting detail. The bracelet
has a tongue insert style clasp, with attached spring-ring safety for additional
security.
There is a mark of some kind on the tongue of the clasp, but it is unclear.
We have tested the bracelet with nitric acid and guarantee it to be 10 karat
gold.
The bracelet is in great condition. The enamel is in great shape, with no
losses. The engraved design is very crisp. The clasp functions well and closes
securely, as does the safety. The interior of the band has a couple of little
dings, but these are impossible to see while the bracelet is on the wrist.
The bracelet will fit a wrist of about 6 inches in circumference. The
bracelet is about 12.7 millimeters wide (about half an inch).
The bracelet weighs 19.9 grams.
