Description

The is a beautiful antique desk seal, it has a very tactile form and is a highly reflective, heavy silver metal. There are no hallmarks, however the color of the metal and quality make it possible it could be sterling. It has been untested. The matrix is wonderfully detailed with sharp impressions. It depicts a open winged griffin with the Latin motto "Labore et Perseverantia" which translates to "Through labour and perseverence". Measures 2 inches high and the matrix is diameter is .75 of an inch. Weighs an impressive 57 grams.
