    Description

    United States Lines - Perfect for your ship room: a 36" by 64" hooked rug showing the UNITED STATES and the AMERICA.
    The rug shows a popular view of the inbound SSUS passing the outbound AMERICA in the North River with Manhattan as a backdrop. Back in the day, the image was used for agency prints, brochures, and postcards. But never in a rug! I believe it is custom-made as there is no label on it.
    It comes from the collection of Willie Tinnemeyer. He says it was given to him by a woman who worked as a hairdresser on the UNITED STATES. Beyond that, Willie doesn't know its history.
    Who ever made it had great talent in reproducing an iconic scene.
    Very good condition but could use a cleaning.
