Description
Hi!
Thanks for looking! For sale is this genuine hand-stitched African
mudcloth from Mali. This is a magnificent example of fermented mud dyeing and hand-stitching of the
Mali people in West Africa. It is
42" by 64" so it can be used as a throw or as fabric for your artistic
or decorating needs or even a rug! This mudcloth is used as a garment you wear in Mali. It comes in the exact condition it left the creators' hand. This is truly a great piece for a collector. If you
are new to African fermented mud hand dyeing, please know that all the
"imperfections" are part of the artistic process of the men and women who
hand-stitched these pieces of cloth together after dyeing the cotton
with the natural plant dyes. So please do NOT expect a perfect piece of fabric. Not one mud cloth is exactly like any other. Please refer to all
pictures and notice all the intricacies and the marks on this
GORGEOUS piece of thick, 100% cotton cloth. Ask any questions you may have prior to
purchasing, for I do NOT accept returns. Thank you! (the jewelry/decor
on display is NOT part of the sale)
