    Description

Antique Cast iron Lion head seal “STRATHMANN AUTOMOBILE Co 1907 NY”. Condition is "Used".
I could not find anything on the Strathmann automobile company from 1907 New York.
1907, however, was the year of the big panic or the great depression!
Many companies went on there during the great depression and if this company was just starting it probably never had a chance!
The cast-iron seal is in excellent condition with all original paint.
The bronze seal itself Has a New York company name stamped on top. It reads “ THE Broun - green company stat and printers New York.
If there is no info at all, anywhere about this company, then this could very well be the only company survivor!
It should be of great interest to vintage automobile collectors or lion head stamp embossers or stock market crash researchers or just cool stuff collectors!
I very much doubt you will ever see another so bid to win!
See pics and ask questions for a happy transaction!
My sister found info on Strathmann automobile Corp. I cut and paste at end of my description.
Hey Jorge, I searched using GOOGLE, with Strathmann Cars NY. Sometimes you get more info with less search words. It was a Harlem (i remember you liked Harlem brownstones, :) dealership.
It came up in books. Also found a photo. See https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-car-photo-model-roadster-chas-1895411544
165-171 E. 120th St Charles Strathmann, Cars & used cars, Repairs, Supplies. Est. 1888 still in business in 1909. In trade publications. That location is now Harlem Art Park. 1912 a Wm Strathmann wanted to manufacture autos. Located at 2906 Broadway, NY, it is a residence building, which may have had a dealership on first floor in past.
It took 8 minutes to find all this info, so no charge. (joke). Sorry it isn't what you hoped, it is a part of Harlem history though.
Now you know, good luck with it.
    Love,
    sis
