Man arrested after his mother is stabbed, possibly with a sword, in Mid-Wilshire
Officers and paramedics attended the scene and treated the two victims, who were taken to the hospital. Officers later transported the man to the LAPD’s Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) and booked him on suspicion of attempted murder.

The man was booked early Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, LAPD said.
The woman’s son, 24-year-old Eric Smith, told NBC affiliate KNBC-DT that his mother was attacked in the 3900 block of Sunset Boulevard. He described the assailant as a black man about 6 feet tall, about 20 to 30 years old with a stocky build and a goatee.
“He was yelling, ‘Don’t come here, don’t come here,’ over and over again,” Smith said of his father’s initial threats. “Then he turned around and swung the knife and it went into the side of her face and she fell.”
Smith said he saw his mother bleeding on the ground, apparently unable to speak, and thought it might be best to let her go.
“I know she was in shock, so I didn’t want her involved in it,” he said.
However, when Smith ran over to his mother, she did not respond. He ran back to a neighbor’s apartment to call police.
